MINTS in Nepal started four years ago with a visit, a phone call and an email. Pastor Sonam Kabo (leader of ELIM ministries in Kathmandu, Nepal) visited Dr. Greg Hauenstein in Miami and heard more about MINTS. Months later, Greg heard from Nepal about the need for someone to come teach business ethics. He immediately contacted Dr. Larry Ruddell (MINTS staff and university professor in business ethics) with the simple question: “how would you like to go to Nepal”?

Dr. Ruddell Teaching
After three years and two fruitful visits by Dr. Ruddell, Sonam and his wife Rita are ready to found a MINTS related school: ELIM Seminary Nepal (in Kathmandu). Dr. Ruddell is president of the Global Institute for Ethical Leadership (GIEL) and has developed a MINTS compliant Business Ethics course that will be delivered in Kathmandu by Pastor Sonam starting in June, 2012 with approximately 15 students attending. They will be using videos of Dr. Ruddell’s translated messages on business ethics (captured in October, 2011 conferences) and delivered via Moodle:
GIEL is helping raise startup funds for the school for basic equipment, including internet for delivering courses via Skype and Moodle as the school is getting started.
Both Sonam and Rita plan to pursue their PhD degrees with MINTS and are proven leaders.
Dr. Ruddell will return in 2013 to help with classes and also go with Pastor Sonam to teach in western Nepal and China.
Please pray for God’s work in this region!
